I C U - a toolbox for optimal teaching

Osnovna škola Glina from September, 2015 untill August, 2017 will participate in a Erasmus+ project "I C U - a toolbox for optimal teaching". In this project our school will work with 6 more primary schools from Estonia, Finland, Norway, Poland, Spain and Sweden.

This partnership has two main objectives. The Toolbox of methods for increasing the five basic skills and the european dimension. We want to collect, try out and improve methods from all partner schools regarding the five basic skills and create a Toolbox for Optimal Teaching. Through our methods we want our students to take more responsibility for their own learning and to improve their ability of self-evaluation. We also aim to develop links between different European countries. This project activities will improve teachers`and pupils`understanding of cultural influences on the provision and the nature of education. We want the students to grow into a stronger European identity.

2nd project meeting - Finland

2nd Erasmus meeting ICU – a Toolbox for Optimal Teaching was held in Vantaa, Finland from 7th to 11th March 2016. From the last meeting Sweden has left the project and during meeting in Finland new activity plan was made and different countries took over responsabilities Sweden had. All the schools tried out oral methods presented at the last meeting and they wrote down the comments about them. Every country also presented one or more numeracy methods that will be tried out until next meeting. Polish school introduced our project on Etwinning platform for everyone else to see it and know about it. We decided to cooperate even more between schools and to involve students more to cooperate between themselves. Until the next meeting every school will organize European Market. Schools can organize it as they want with activities related to numeracy methods. The traveling dolls are continuing their journeys to meet new children and learn more about them. Next meeting will be held in Haapsalu, Estonia from 23rd to 27th May 2016.
